Can I just start by saying this year went by so fast!!!
Although my December was spent studying for all 6 of my finals (hardest semester thus far) and applying to grad school, which is a lot more work than I ever thought... and a lot more money than I thought too. But we did still get to sneak in some time to be spontaneous, which is what Michael and I do best since my school this year has been pretty crazy! We take anytime we can to go on dates and spend time together so I don't go insane. Which I really felt I was about to lose it this month, I thank God everyday for my ever so patient husband. I love him a lot, don't know how I ever survived without him!
Just like November I still couldn't get enough of miss Kate, so we spent a lot of time over at the Darrington Household with their cute kiddos.
Ryan was okay with it especially cause I brought Donuts :)
Michael and I are trying to save money so we decided to do homemade gifts this year we made the kids these signs that michael got the idea from his friend Mike Dobruskey. You outline the letters with nails and use string to fill them in. They were kind of a pain but we liked how they turned out.
We still have two more to do!
I had so much fun making gifts this year rather than buying them!
I love this time of year it comes and goes so fast now that I am an adult.
I remember being a kid waiting for december and it always seemed like it took so long to get here!
My mom always decorates the house so cute,
I loved coming downstairs to all these decorations while studying late at night, it was so worth it being up late being able to see everything lit up :)
We finally got around to taking the Eisenbeiss Family Pictures
My grandma Judy used my dads camera and we went over to the Hidden Springs Barn
I loved this spot, you could see the mountains in the background!
We didn't even realize it until we got home and looked at the pics.
I just love my family so much :)
This December (after my semester finally ended) I began learning to sew.
My sweet grandmother is a pro and I decided I needed to start learning!
So every Wednesday I have been going to her house to learn to sew.
We are working on a rag quilt I'm putting together for a future baby girl that
maybe I'll have someday!
One weekend Michael and I decided to go look at the Christmas lights on Quail Ridge
(that neighborhood always has at least a couple houses that go all out)
While we were waiting for the Darrington Family to get there we drove around the neighborhood
and found our dream lot.
It overlooked the city and had the best view so naturally we had to take a picture by it!
Once the Darrington Fam arrived we went to the famous quail ridge house that goes crazy with lights every year, the kids loved it and so did I!
After the fun weekend of looking at lights I had to go back full force to studying because finals were right around the corner! I didn't get to see much of my husband that week because I literally studied all day everyday. This semester was quite tough for me with 18 credits and needing all As for grad school. Lets just say I barely survived, but I did it!!
Here's a pic of Michael and I facetiming each other
because thats about all he got to see of me that week haha I love that guy.
While studying for finals Kya followed me around everywhere and would stay with me as I studied all night, she was the best study partner.
She also kept Michael busy when I was gone so he would stay Sane. We usually spend every waking moment together so it was a rough week or two. We were both thrilled for it to be over... well at least until the next semester.
Once I finally got done with finals I frantically made our Christmas Card I thought it turned out nice! The collage on the back was my favorite part!
That sunday my mom shot a cute pic of Mikey and I while we were heading out the door to church, can you tell I had lived on no sleep that week? I look barely awake still haha
One of our favorite primary kiddos dropped off some sugar cookies for us that night, they were so cute he said he made them all by himself!
So naturally Michael and I decided to make sugar cookies to try to compete with a 4 year old.
Just kidding we volunteered to make a bunch of sugar cookies for the live nativity event our ward was doing for the community. We may have ate a handful of them...
Michael and I both currently work at Childrens Therapy Place, Michael does there payroll and billing and I help every friday with office work. We love being able to work together and we have awesome coworkers. I mean look at this cute Olaf Stephanie our Occupational Therapist painted! We thought it was so cute and our nieces and nephews would love it so we had to take a picture!
That weekend we also had a company business party, I think we had more fun before we got there being goofy together, but all in all we enjoyed the bowling party, except the fact that Michael didnt win the go-pro raffle... so that put a damper on the night.
I had to figure out a way to cheer him up so I decided to surprise him with an impromptu trip to the place we first met... MERRITS country cafe. We ate way too much sugar, it was great.
This month was pretty busy and poor Kya didnt get much attention but once we did play with her, we made sure to tire her out!
Christmas Came and Went so Fast!
Michael's parents gave us a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup for Christmas... that weighed 1 pound. Michael was beyond thrilled!
I made peppermint cake bars for the people I visit teach. Michael and I may have ate like half the pan though they were so amazingly good! Here's the recipe you can thank me later http://mixandmatchmama.blogspot.com/2012/12/candy-cane-neiman-marcus-bars.html
Every year my mom has always bought me a new dress to wear to church for Christmas, I loved the one she picked out this year! This was Michael and I before church the week of Christmas!
Christmas Eve we spent with my Dad's side of the family.
My aunt always does a beautiful dinner and then we have our family ping pong tournament.
Even my grandparents are apart of it!
Michael and I are already preparing for next year :)
On Christmas Morning we started at my parents for breakfast and gifts.
Kya got spoiled as usual.
We then headed to the McBride house!

Every year we do a gift exchange, the gifts get more interesting every year
take a look for yourself...
This is our awesome primary class that we taught for the last time that week
before we were assigned our new class for the new year.
They always adore Michael as you can see.
The rest of our days were spent watching the office...
going to hockey games together...
watching movies with the dogs...

and then to end the month we celebrated new years eve with our friends Dan and Kelsea,
but we are officially old cause by midnight this is where we were, already in bed...
And that was December.
